The Obligations table stores the obligations that AI extracts from your contracts. Obligation records hold the normalized and standardized version of the extracted data and can be used to create [Tasks](https://agiloft-public.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/A2508SD/pages/134056799).
Obligations are automatically extracted from contracts when you’re logged in to [Screens](https://agiloft-public.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DT/pages/43719552) with Agiloft and evaluate a document with any of the community obligation screens listed below. These screens are published by Agiloft’s team of Legal Knowledge Engineers, who have deep experience with contracts as former practicing attorneys:
- **Payment Obligations**: Identifies and extracts payment-related obligations in service and service-related contracts.
- **Service Level Obligations**: Identifies and extracts service level-related obligations in service level and service level-related contracts.
- **Data Obligations**: Identifies and extracts data-related obligations in data processing contracts.
- **Termination Obligations**: Identifies and extracts termination-related obligations in general commercial contracts.
- **Delivery Obligations**: Identifies and extracts delivery-related obligations in general commercial contracts.
- **Insurance Obligations**: Identifies and extracts insurance-related obligations in general commercial contracts.
- **Confidentiality Obligations**: Identifies and extracts confidentiality-related obligations in general commercial contracts.
- **Regulatory Obligations**: Identifies and extracts regulatory-related obligations in general commercial contracts.
# Record Creation
Users don't create or edit records directly in the Obligations table. New records are automatically generated when a user evaluates a contract with one of Agiloft’s community obligation screens. When you run a screen, the system creates an Obligation record for each obligation extracted from the contract. You can generate a [Task](https://agiloft-public.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/A2508SD/pages/134056799) from an Obligation by clicking the Create Task button in the record or table view.
Each Obligation record links to the related Screen Result, Contract, and Attachment records. The Summary, Summary Standardized, Consequence, Consequence Standardized, Trigger Type, and Responsible Party fields are populated with the responses to the prompts in the obligation screens.
# Views
The out-of-the-box Obligations table includes the [standard views](https://agiloft-public.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HELP/pages/43718574). The Default View shows the Edit icon, View, ID, Contract ID, Obligation Type, Metadata Type, Obligation Exists, Pinpoint Citation, Summary Standardized, Consequence Standardized, and Screen Result Status fields as well as the Create Task button.
# Fields
In addition to the [standard fields](https://agiloft-public.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/A2508SD/pages/134054074/Table+Concepts#standard_fields), the out-of-the-box Obligations table includes the following fields.

# Automation
This section describes the rule that is implemented for the out-of-the-box Obligations table. For details about rule configuration options, see [Rules](https://agiloft-public.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HELP/pages/43714473) in the Help Guide.
- **Create: All Obligation Create actions (web, API)**: This rule runs when a record is created and performs the following actions:
- Refreshes links to the related Screen Results and Metadata Type records.
- Sets the Obligation Exists flag to Yes.
- Sets the Date Type and Amount Type values to Fixed or Relative based on the Due Date value.
- Sets the Responsible Party if it is blank.
# Ownership
Obligation records are owned by the user who creates them. Specifically, Creator Login is set to the Login of the user who creates the record. For more information on record ownership, see [Record Ownership](https://agiloft-public.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HELP/pages/43718158) in the Help Guide.
